An three car crash in Branch County Thursday evening resulted in one person being airlifted to the hospital.

The Michigan State Police Marshall Post says that their officers were called to the intersection of Angola Rd. and Central Rd. in Branch County's Ovid Township around 5:06pm Thursday. According to authorities, a vehicle heading eastbound on Central ran a stop sign, and collided with the side of another vehicle heading south. The impact knocked that second car off the road into the trees, and also resulted in the first vehicle hitting a third one traveling northbound.

The driver of the at-fault vehicle, a 43-year-old woman, was unconscious when troopers arrived, and had to be airlifted to a medical center in Fort Wayne, Indiana for treatment. The two other drivers both suffered minor injuries, and didn't require hospitalization.

Investigation into this crash continues, but authorities say that alcohol and drug use are not suspected to have been factors.
