After a quiet weather weekend, it's back to work Monday with another blanket of snow expected to cover the slick ice left by a slight thaw and more freezing temps.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department says there's a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 8am Monday:

Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches expected. Light snow will be overspreading the region later this morning and into the afternoon. The snow will persist through much of the night. There is the potential for bands of moderate snow to occur within the advisory area which is where around 4 inches of snow could accumulate.

The Department says to plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.  Counties affected:

CALHOUN.... KENT ... INGHAM ... GRATIOT ... OTTAWA ... EATON ... CLINTON ... MUSKEGON ... ALLEGAN ... IONIA ... VAN BUREN ... BARRY ... KALAMAZOO ... .. MONTCALM ... JACKSON

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
