In what the National Weather Service promises will be the coldest overnight of the week, thermometers across the region were registering air temperatures below zero Wednesday morning.

At 4am outside the WBCK studios, an air temperature of -8 degrees was registered. The good news is the wind chill is virtually nil, with a calm setting overnight Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecast for Battle Creek suggests slightly warmer overnight temperatures for the balance of the week, and even a couple of days near or above freezing.
