A passenger car collided with a Kalamazoo Metro Transit bus at approximately 7:22 PM, Wednesday night, in downtown Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo Public Safety was called to the intersection of Oakland Drive and South Street where the bus driver was pinned inside the bus and the driver of the car was unresponsive.

A police officer helped injured passengers from the bus as extrication equipment was used to free the driver. Four passengers were transported to Bronson Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was unresponsive and both drivers were taken to Bronson Hospital and both were in surgery at the time of the press release.

The investigation continues but speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
