The Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab have been called in after a dead body was found in Springfield.

In a release, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that deputies responded to the area of 5th St. between 30th St. and Helmer Rd, near W.K. Kellogg Airport. They went there around 11:45pm Wednesday, January 4 after a 911 call.

At the scene, deputies found a deceased white male, and investigators have been unable to identify him as of Thursday morning. There's no word on cause of death at this time.

However, authorities say that he is not the man currently missing out of Battle Creek, 28-year-old Robert Barroso.
