A Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured early Sunday morning when his cruiser was broadsided, at the intersection of North Avenue and Coolidge, by another vehicle. Both drivers were transported to Bronson Battle Creek for minor injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash. The Michigan State Police are assisting with the accident investigation.

As a tow truck driver was loading one of the vehicles from the collision onto his truck, a vehicle struck the tow truck and the vehicle's driver fled the scene on foot. A K-9 track was unable to locate the driver.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police are seeking information regarding both incidents. If anyone has information, they can call the Marshall Regional Law Enforcement Center at 269-781-0880 or Silent Observer at 964-3888.
