An 18-year-old Albion woman is in critical condition after a two-vehicle accident in Sheridan Township Wednesday. Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Michigan Avenue near 26 Mile Road, where the driver of a westbound vehicle had lost control on the ice and slid into the eastbound lane, hitting another vehicle. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 38-year-old Albion woman, and the 48-year-old Marshall woman driving the other vehicle were both taken to Allegiance Health in Jackson for their injuries. The woman in critical condition was a passenger in the eastbound vehicle and had to be extracted from it. She was flown to Bronson-Kalamazoo. The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the crash.
