Battle Creek's World's Longest Breakfast Table is moving back downtown.  Kellogg Arena and Festival Market Square General Manager Jeff Weber made the announcement on Tuesday morning in a release.

The festival was being operated by the Battle Creek Community Foundation for the past several years, and had been centered around McCamly Park, on Michigan Avenue just east of Washington.

The Cereal City Development Corporation (CCDC) will assume the operation "National Cereal Festival", including the Grand Cereal Parade and World's Longest Breakfast Table beginning in 2018.

The Festival will have a refreshed look as the World's Longest Breakfast Table will move to McCamly Street, between Hamblin Avenue and State Street. To bring attendees closer to Festival Market Square, vendor spaces will be showcased on Jackson Street, Wave Park, and within Festival Market Square along with the Battle Creek Farmers Market.

The Battle Creek Community Foundation will provide assistance in funding to enhance sustainability over the course of the transition period. Leaning on its experience with downtown summer events that include Vibe @5, Post Band, and the Battle Creek Caribbean Festival, CCDC will innovate the Festival by fusing familiar attractions and new features.

"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to build upon the Cereal Festival and the energy that it brings Downtown. We hope our expertise and enthusiasm will compel Battle Creek and Calhoun County residents to make the Festival a "can't-miss" on their summer agenda and to showcase why Battle Creek is worth believing in", Jeff Weber, CCDC General Manager states.

Parade Grand Marshal nominations are currently being accepted at BCCerealFest.com and are due May 11, 2018.

Those wishing to be involved with the Festival can become a corporate sponsor for as low as $100. Vendor applications are also available via the website. Donations to the Festival are currently being accepted at battlecreeklive.ticketforce.com and are 100% tax deductible.
