The City of Battle Creek is seeking junior high and high school students to be student ambassadors to Battle Creek's Sister City of Takasaki, Japan.

The annual student exchange is available to any student in the Battle Creek area.  Local teachers are also being sought, to serve as chaperones for the 2016 student delegations.

The exchange program involves a 10-day trip to Takasaki, Japan, and a 10-day hosting of a Japanese student in Battle Creek.  Four High School students will be selected.

Both delegations will depart on July 28 and return on Aug. 8.

 

High school families will host Takasaki students Aug. 8 to 18 and junior high families will host Aug. 11 to 20.

 

Applications for the program are available on the city’s website, www.battlecreekmi.gov/takasaki and are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18 to Room 206 at City Hall, 10 N.
