College Football Champs, Fast Food And The White House
When your cooking staff is furloughed, what do you feed a bunch of hungry athletic teenagers and young men, well fast food of course.
The College football champions, the Clemson Tigers were invited to the White House to celebrate their crushing defeat of Alabama with the President. Due to the government shutdown the cooking staff are furloughed so President Trump brought in silver trays with stacks of wrapped burgers from Wendy's and McDonald's as well as cups of French fries bearing the presidential seal. As an added bonus pizza was also served. For those of you who might be concerned about the nutritional value of the food, salads were also served.
President Trump was quoted saying:
We ordered American fast food, paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza…We have some very large people that like eating, so I think we're going to have a little fun…If it's American, I like it. It's all American stuff
As I stated since the White House cooking staff is furloughed the White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said:
so the president is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone's favorite fast foods.
I think it is fair to say that everybody loves fast food and it is OK to have from time to time. This teenagers and young men probably loved it.
Although I would think it is pretty hard to keep the food warm enough to serve it at its peak deliciousness.
