Battle Creek residents have the chance Tuesday, April 11, 2017 to comment on the city's Community Development Action Plan during the regularly scheduled Battle Creek City Commission meeting at City Hall.

Commissioner Andy Helmboldt tells 95.3 WBCK the public comment time will happen relatively soon in the agenda, once the 7 p.m. meeting gets underway. He encourages those interested in commenting to arrive in time for the start of the meeting.

Battle Creek's community development manager, Chris Lussier, also says the plan involves distribution of federal Community Block Grant dollars, which are threatened to be cut by the Trump Administration.

The programs include over $1 million for Battle Creek, and fund programs for housing hardship assistance and home maintenance assistance for low and moderate income persons in Battle Creek.
