One of the main stretches of Albion will have construction throughout the summer and fall, with a possible November 3rd completion.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin work on Superior Street, which is a portion of M-99, in downtown Albion beginning April 17th. The bricks will be removed from East Michigan to Erie Street. Crews will be replacing sewer and water lines in the construction zone, replacing the sidewalk, curbs and gutters, and replacing with new bricks. This portion of Superior will also become a three-lane road, where it currently is a four-lane road.

MDOT advises drivers to use Irwin Street to Eaton Street to Austin Avenue as a detour around the construction. The construction should be completed by November 3rd.
