While it's rarely talked about in the same breath as science, engineering, and other parts of education, there is a growing fear from some, about a decline in cursive writing education.

In the state of Ohio for example, a bill has been introduced to require cursive to be taught in all elementary schools. The question also surfaced last week in Lansing, when legislators questioned incoming Michigan school superintendent Brian Whiston about cursive writing.

While many schools still emphasize it, Whiston admits cursive "has fallen on the wayside."
