I am once again confused and this time by a “Reverend” Rideout who is a senior “Pastor” at All God's People Church in Detroit.  Apparently in his mind we are not “All God’s Children”, at least if he disagrees with your opinion.

I thought that Christians are supposed to be forgiving people, especially a man who has professed to go to divinity school and learn the word of God, that being “reverend” Rideout.  Do not all men and women sin, does his church only accept people with certain sin’s and rejects people with other sin’s?

Mlive is reporting that “Reverend” Rideout is planning a demonstration scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, outside the church, according to Detroit activist Malik Shabazz.

“Reverend” Rideout is quoted in the article stating:

"I am going to protest him even coming here, him even asking for black African-American voters, Latino votes, or anyone else for that matter. So, we're going to let him know that we don't want him here.  We don't want him as our president, and, bottom line, you shouldn't be coming, asking for our votes after the way you have treated the black African-American culture.”

How has he treated the black African-American culture badly?  Has he not employed African-Americans which helps not only their families but their community?

He was also quoted in the article stating:

“How can I give him credit for the things that he has said about black African-Americans, Latinos, gays, lesbians?  The things that he has said is not peaceful talk. He's trying to build walls and we're trying to build bridges. We're trying to bring peace into the community, in to our nation.”

I would ask “Reverend” Rideout if his demonstration is helping to build bridges or walls.

“Reverend” Rideout apparently has not read the entire bible or does not fully believe in the bible.  He possibly skipped over the following bible passages:

John 13: 34 – 35 “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

Or

John 4:20 “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen..”

In some people’s eyes, including people who profess to be people of God there is no winning for Trump.  They are anger at him if he attempts to speak to their identified group and angry at him if he does not.

Let’s talk about this today on The Live with Renk Show which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon. To let me know your thoughts during the show please call (269) 441-9595.

Or please feel free to start a discussion and write your thoughts in the comment section.
