Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect after a disabled man was injured in a hit-and-run.

Around 12:15am Saturday, Battle Creek Police Officers responded to E. Goodale St. and Hillsdale on reports of a man being struck by a passing car.  At the scene, officers found the 60-year-old man unresponsive in the street.

Investigation shows that it appears the man was driving an electric mobility scooter in the bike lane, when a vehicle struck the man.  Very little debris from the scooter was found at the scene, so it is believed that the suspect vehicle dragged the rest of the scooter away as it fled.

The victim was transported to the hospital, and while his exact condition is unknown his injuries could be life threatening.

Authorities are asking for citizens to keep an eye out for vehicles with damage to their front and/or right front.  If you have any information, please call 911 or Silent Observer.
