It used to be parents had their children vaccinated without question. These days, some parents opt out of vaccinations - including for Measles - if their state allows it. Michigan does, as does California, where one doctor has readily written a pass for parents who want to skip vaccinations.

Dr. David Davenport, director of infection prevention and control at Borgess Medical Center, tells The Richard Piet Show outbreaks of Measles in California and even in Michigan are a direct result of children who haven't been vaccinated. A case in metro Detroit is reportedly linked to the California Disneyland outbreak.

Some parents are said to be holding firm in their beliefs that the vaccinations are a link to autism.
