(AP) A man and his wife whose dogs killed a 46-year-old jogger near their Michigan home have been sentenced to a minimum of nearly five years in prison, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Lapeer County Judge Nick Holowka says he can't imagine a more "gruesome" death, although he acknowledged that the owners didn't intend to have their dogs kill Craig Sytsma.

Sebastiano Quagliata and Valbona Lucaj pleaded no contest in April to owning a dangerous dog causing death.
