Battle Creek’s representative in the Michigan House is already looking ahead to 2018. Republican Representative Dr. John Bizon is currently serving his second term in the 62nd State House District, and is eligible to run for one more term in the House.

In a press release Wednesday night, Bizon announced that he plans on running for the Michigan Senate next year, seeking the seat that Senator Mike Nofs currently holds. Nofs can’t run again, due to term limits.

If he’s elected to the Senate in the 2018 midterms, Bizon’s constituency would grow to include Calhoun, Barry and Ionia Counties.

Bizon, who has been serving in the Michigan House since 2014, is an Ear, Nose & Throat doctor with a practice in Battle Creek, and also a veteran of the US Air Force.

Dr. Bizon is set to appear Friday at 8am on 95.3 WBCK, as Richard talks to him live from the roof of Mancino’s during our Roof Sit.
