A gunshot reportedly fired from a vehicle on the east side of Battle Creek left one man seriously injured Monday night. The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the shooting stemmed from an earlier argument at a gas station in Emmett Township between two brothers and the girlfriend of the victim. The brothers reportedly came to a home in the 200 block of Kingman Road where more fighting happened and then later they returned again. That’s when the shot was fired from the vehicle.

Battle Creek police officers responded just after 5:00pm and found the 34-year-old victim with an injury to his lower abdomen. The victim was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital and his current condition is unknown.  One of the brothers, a 23-year-old male, was arrested but police believe his older brother, a 29-year-old male, is the suspected shooter and he is reportedly still on the loose. No names of any involved in this case have been released. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
