Driver Airlifted After Crash On Interstate Monday Night

I-94 was closed for around an hour and half last night in the Battle Creek area due to a crash.

The crash happened at around 8:50 p.m. when a 64-year-old man entering the interstate from Capital Avenue lost control and hit a tree.

A 12-year-old boy in the car was unharmed; the driver was airlifted to Bronson-Kalamazoo with head injuries.

State Police investigators say it appears that excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.
