Calhoun County Treasurer Christine Schauer is seeking re-election to the treasurer's office. Veteran and former interim president/CEO of Goodwill Industries Brian Wensauer is challenging Schauer.

Schauer listed her party affiliation with the Calhoun County Clerk's Office as Democrat; Wensauer listed his as Republican.

Wensauer touts his experience in management, finance, leadership and as a business owner as qualifications for the treasurer's office.

Schauer also points to finance experience as well as her record over the last four years as proof of her competency in office.

Wensauer, a Vietnam Veteran, calls for the treasurer to develop more and better connections between veterans and home ownership. He also expresses concern over the Calhoun County Land Bank Authority's approach to selling vacant properties at extremely reduced prices.

Schauer points to successes in removing blighted properties and helping residents avoid foreclosure during her tenure.
