The Emmett Township Department of Public Safety is asking for any witnesses to an incident last week to come forward.

The Department says Tuesday evening that they are continuing to investigate the incident that took place June 1, in the 900 block of E. Michigan Ave, where a woman was ejected from a moving minivan that kept driving. The woman, identified as 41-year-old Jodi Thompson of Battle Creek, later died at the hospital from her injuries.

The EDPS says that they have now learned that a white Chevy Blazer might have been behind that van, and also may have followed it. Authorities are asking that those who were in that vehicle specifically contact the department’s detective bureau.

They’ve already spoken with the Battle Creek man who was behind the wheel of the van Thompson fell out of.
