As the only daytime drop-in shelter and resource center in Kalamazoo, Ministry with Community (MwC) has a long-standing tradition of working with the community to meet the needs of people who are struggling with homelessness, poverty, mental illness and other challenges.
The Annual Underwear Open House event raises awareness and helps provide critical support and items for those MwC serves. Cash donations and donations of new winter clothing and undergarments are collected to help members survive in the harsh Michigan winters. Last year, through community-wide donation boxes and at the event, approximately 4,500 items were collected for those in need.
