West Michigan Beer Tours is launching its inaugural Bicycle Tour Series of downtown Kalamazoo breweries.

As a complement to the successful summer Walking Tour Series, this tour will let guests ride through downtown Kalamazoo and learn more about the city’s ever-expanding beer culture.

You can learn some of the city’s beer history, meet the people behind the current explosion of Kalamazoo beer and try a few samples of the varied styles available around town.

Participants in the bike tours will also receive a commemorative water bottle, as well as other discounts, coupons and giveaways. The six-week series will begin on July 18 and continue through Oct. 10.

Each tour begins with registration from noon to 1 p.m. Each tour will visit three breweries and end at about 4:30 p.m. You are welcome to bring your own bicycle, but rentals from Kzoo Swift will also be available, including the pedicab option for two. Samples at each stop are included in the ticket price.

Tickets range from $29 per person without a bike rental to up to $188 for two people to ride the pedicab. Tours will be conducted on the following dates: July 18; Aug. 15; Sept. 5; Sept. 19; Oct. 3 and Oct. 10.
