Explosive Materials Detonated In Convis Township

Calhoun County authorities had to call on the Bomb Squad Tuesday afternoon, after explosive materials were found at a residence.

Just before 1pm Tuesday, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Battle Creek Police Department's Bomb Squad responded to a home in the 21,000 block of 14 Mile Rd. In Convis Township.  The bomb squad was able to safely detonate the materials on site.

Also found at the scene was an unknown liquid, so deputies turned it over to the Calhoun County Health Department for disposal.

More information isn’t available, but authorities do say that this doesn’t appear criminal in nature.
