A crash in Calhoun County that took place Christmas Eve has now resulted in a death.

The Michigan State Police say Thursday that a vehicle travelling southbound on Marshall Rd. near the Calhoun/Branch County line lost control and slid into the path of a northbound vehicle, causing a collision.

A front seat passenger in the first vehicle, 51-year-old Lorraine Cutler of Quincy, suffered injuries that later turned out to be fatal; a 13-year-old boy in the vehicle was also hurt, and taken to the hospital to be treated. No injuries to the other car’s occupants were reported.

The MSP Marshall post says that they are continuing to investigate this crash. They have not yet said what they believe might have caused this accident to occur.
