Fatal Fire Investigated

A fatal fire in Kalamazoo Saturday has been deemed as suspicious in nature.

Firefighters responded to the Clayborne Court Apartments just before 8:30 that night and quickly put out a fire in a bedroom in one of the units.  Officers say they found the 47-year-old woman who lived in the apartment dead on the bed.

Police say they are investigating both the cause of the fire and of the victim’s death.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer.
