Battle Creek's Fire Hub and their adjacent food pantry are running a promotion this month in order to bring in more food for the holiday season.

The Kendall St. Pantry says that they have served over 5,000 families since opening in April, with over 25,000 pounds of non-perishable food being distributed to those in need. Michael McFarlen from the Fire Hub says that as we head through November and December, the need for food is rising; So, for the month of October, if you bring in two or more non-perishable food items for donation, you’ll get $2 off an order at the Fire Hub restaurant.

The Fire Hub and the Kendall St. Pantry are located in old Fire Station no. 4 at the corner of Kendall St. and Dickman Rd. in Battle Creek. The operation is owned and operated by Firekeeper's Casino Hotel, in collaboration with the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.
