Firefighters from Battle Creek, Springfield and other nearby departments will be training at the W.K. Kellogg Airport again today.

The City of Battle Creek took over firefighting services from the National Guard last year.

The FAA requires that airport firefighters be trained in the approved Airport Rescue and Fire Fighter certification which is being provided by Kellogg Community College.

Ten Battle Creek firefighters are being trained and will then be ready to be stationed at the airport.
