Power is being restored in North Carolina thanks, in part, to a Battle Creek business.

Hurricane Florence may not have turned out to be as big as we feared but it still wreaked havoc on everything in its path causing massive flooding and devastation. Once the waters have receded, restoration of power is a top priority. Battle Creek's Midwest Powerline has sent several trucks and crews to North Carolina to help.

A Battle Creek resident who now lives in Georgia spotted the hometown team in Statesville, North Carolina on Friday, September 14. Tom shared this message with the You Know You're from Battle Creek When... Facebook group:

Shout out to the linemen and women of Midwest Powerline who helped with hurricane Florence problems. My wife and I checked into the Comfort Inn in Statesville, NC last Friday night. Many of the crews were with Midwest and I enjoyed talking with several. Thank you so much for what you do! I'm Lakeview HS '65 and now live in Georgia..

Midwest Powerline is a large utility contractor that specializes in emergency restoration services- erecting utility poles, stringing new power lines and restoring ground-level services. We're with Tom in saying thanks for what you do and extending a helping hand from Southwest Michigan to the Carolinas in a time of need.
