A former western Michigan funeral director is headed to jail for fraud. According to the Associated Press, Thomas Clock III misled relatives, claiming that a buried, empty urn contained a woman’s cremated remains. In court, he also faced another fraud charge after a container intended for the cremated remains of a baby was found empty. Clock will spend the next eight months in jail, along with two months’ probation and fines.
