Former Officer Pleas No Contest

A former Emmett Township police officer pled no contest to a felony charge of assault by strangulation, Friday, in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court.

Troy Estree entered the plea, before Kalamazoo County Circuit Judge Alexander Lipsey. According to the Battle Creek Enquirer, in exchange for the plea, charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct will be dismissed after his sentencing in July. Estree faces up to 10-years in prison.
