A crash involving a stolen car sent four people to the hospital yesterday.

Around 5pm Monday, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers responded to the 500 block of North Westnedge Avenue on reports of a crash.  On the scene, they found a 1996 Ford Contour with severe front-end damage.

Witnesses indicated to officers that the Contour was speeding southbound when the driver lost control and sideswiped another vehicle, before crashing into a pole.

Two of the four occupants had to be rescued from the car, and all four were taken to Bronson Kalamazoo with non-life threatening injuries.

People in the other vehicle were not injured.

It was determined that the Contour was a stolen vehicle, and the crash remains under investigation.
