Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies nabbed a Georgia man that was wanted for murder Tuesday morning.

An emergency call was made from Eckford Township just after 11am after residents along 22 Mile Road and D Drive South were receiving knocks on the door from someone trying to sell cleaning products.

Authorities were able to make a traffic stop and initially arrested the 40-year-old man on a possession of marijuana charge. Investigators say the man gave them a fake name, but learned later from fingerprints that he was wanted for murder and murder of an unborn child in Georgia.

He’s awaiting extradition back to Georgia at the Calhoun County Jail.
