Governor Snyder Expected To Fight Back Over Teacher Paycheck Returns
An appeal is expected from Governor Snyder, following a court order to return $550 million from Michigan teachers’ paychecks for retiree health care. On Tuesday, Snyder spokeswoman Anna Heaton says that “payments are necessary for the long-term financial stability of the retirement system teachers rely on for health care benefits.” Last month, the state appeals court ruled that initial salary deductions were improper.
