Governor Snyder’s Efforts For Public University Funding Falls Short
In spite of efforts from Governor Snyder, aggregate funding for Michigan public universities in the next state budget will still be below what they were five years ago, before a major cut. According to the Associated Press, Snyder forwarded a proposal to bring them back to the levels they were at when he took office in 2011. More than a third of the 15 state universities will receive less than they did in the 2010-2011, fiscal year.
