Grammy Awards: Sam Smith the Big Winner
2015 Grammy Awards
Sam Smith was the big winner during the 57th Grammy Awards last night, taking home Record of the Year for “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)” and also winning New Artist, Song of the Year, and Pop Vocal Album.
Smith nominated for six awards, along with Pharrell Williams and Beyoncé. Beck won Album of the Year for “Morning Phase,” beating out Smith, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, and Williams. Winners include:
Beck won Album of the Year. And when he was about to give his acceptance speech, Kanye West stepped up to the stage and seemed like he was going to re-enact his famous interruption of Taylor Swift. But it was a fake-out. Kanye quickly sat back down. Beck did call out to him to stay, as a joke.
At E!'s Grammy After Party, Kanye ranted about Beck beating Beyonce and said people need to, quote, "respect artistry".
