Lou Musa, lead guitarist for The Verve Pipe, was hit by a car, Friday, while running near his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to a posting on the band’s Facebook page, Musa was hospitalized and put under observation, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The band was scheduled to play a concert, Saturday, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but had to cancel. The posting said that it was unfortunate that they had to cancel their gig at the East Coast Surfing Championship, but “without Lou, there’s simply no TVP.”

The Verve Pipe, known for their hit The Freshman, is currently touring and is scheduled to appear in Kalamazoo at Bell’s Eccentric Café, September 24th.
