Battle Creek police are looking for a male suspect who was reportedly firing several gunshots near a business early Sunday morning. A man walking in the area was struck by two of those bullets. Officers were called by a witness to the parking lot of The Music Factory in the 190 block of Angell Street at around 12:15 am.

A 24-year-old male victim at the scene reported the he and a friend had been walking in the parking lot when he was shot from behind. He told officers he was struck once in the right shoulder and then again in the chin. The victim drove himself to Bronson Battle Creek for treatment of injuries. Meanwhile, no one knew who the shooter was and no suspect description was able to be obtained from those at the scene. Investigators found several 9 mm shell casings on the sidewalk near Upton Avenue and Angell Street where the witness said he saw the shooter.
