High School Basketball – Lakeview Gets First Win

The Lakeview Spartans had two close games to open the season last week, both ending in losses. They were home for the second time this year Tuesday night to host the Portage Northern Huskies in a Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference non-divisional battle.

The Huskies entered the contest with wins over Plainwell and Niles to open the season. With a tough road schedule out of the gate, Northern looked to earn their third straight win.

The Spartans were looking to avoid any slips in the fourth quarter that led to their previous losses. A quick start in the first quarter would help them in our Game of the Night.
