High School Football Recap – Harper Creek at Pennfield

Four of the five Battle Creek city teams were in action Friday night, including two in our Game of the Night on WBCK.

The Interstate 8-leading Harper Creek Beavers looked to stay undefeated and playing for the first time this year as a state-ranked squad, battling a pesky Pennfield Panthers team that played them tough last season.

The Lakeview Spartans traveled to Portage to tangle with the Mustangs of Portage Central in the first true test of their 2016 season in Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference non-divisional play. Also, Battle Creek Central hit the road in search of their first win of the season in Niles.

St. Philip and Climax-Scotts will wrap up Week 5 with games on Saturday afternoon.
