The 2015 High School Football season begins in the Battle Creek area tonight, with a great start in 8-Man to kick it off!

Just a couple of games are taking place tonight, with a majority of others playing on the normal Friday night. This will be another season where two games are scheduled before students return to school.

Our "Game of the Night" tonight takes us to C.W. Post Field, where the St. Philip Tigers will host the Morrice Orioles in 8-Man. The Tigers, coming off another Southern Michigan 8-Man Conference championship, had their season ended in the second week of the postseason for the third straight year by eventual state-champion Lawrence. While the Tigers have lost several key players from the last season, they will have eight seniors who have been a part of the team for all four years the Tigers have played 8-Man.

For the first time in school history, the Tigers will take on a Morrice Orioles squad that is entering their second season of 8-Man. They finished 5-4 in the regular season and reached the playoffs out of the Central Michigan 8-Man Conference, a three-team conference that also features former SM8 member Portland St. Patrick. Like the Tigers, the Orioles were eliminated in the second week by Peck, last year's 8-Man state runner-up.
