In these current times, when the streets in many of our nation’s cities are filled with rioters abusing the police officers that are there to serve and protect, it’s always great to get a story that is positive and reinforces your faith in the Good Samaritan.

It was a chilly evening, when the Battle Creek City Police and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies dealt with a multi-car crash that had closed the intersection on Beckley Road and M-66.

Two detectives, one from the Battle Creek City Police and the other from Emmett Township, had confronted two retail fraud suspects in the Meijer parking lot and one of the men was armed.

A chase ensued and resulted in the crash that sent six people to the hospital.

The suspects were jailed and it was now time to clean-up the mess that closed the busy intersection of Beckley Road and M-66.

As the chaos slowed, a Good Samaritan approached the scene and gave out steaming hot cups of coffee, for the officers working the chilly crime scene.

The Battle Creek City Police expressed their appreciation on their Facebook page and the public has been uplifted that kindness still lurks around the Cereal City.
