The Battle Creek Central Bearcats looked to continue their unusually strong start at home against the Harper Creek Beavers. While the Bearcats started at 1-1 on the season, the Beavers were 2-0 behind hot shooting from junior guard Jeremiah Davis, who has averaged 25.5 points in the first two games.

The Beavers started with a lead in the first quarter and trailed 11-10 after it. They took a 12-11 lead early in the second and that would be it, as the Bearcats would streak their way to a 60-46 victory on their home floor.

Seniors Julieon Cooper and Cyntell Williams each had 16 on the night for the Bearcats, while junior Juan Warren added 11 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Harper Creek only shot 22 percent from the field on the night, including 4-of-20 from behind the arc. Senior Brandan Settles led the Beavers with 14 points and eight rebounds. Davis finished with 12 in the loss.

Battle Creek Central plays on back-to-back nights, as they travel to Stevensville to take on the Lancers of Lakeshore Tuesday. Harper Creek will host the Charlotte Orioles Friday night in their final game before the Holiday break.
