Crosstown Hardwood Action Tonight: HS Basketball – December 15
Two teams who were rivals in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference return to action on the court tonight as non-conference foes.The Battle Creek Central Bearcats look for their first win on the season and make their way to Harper Creek to take on the undefeated Beavers. After suffering a buzzer-beating loss to Jackson in their opener, the Bearcats were bombed by Kalamazoo Central in SMAC East on Friday to fall to 0-2. BCC has seen strong performances in both games from Wendell White, who scored 19 points in each game.
The Beavers have been off and running to start the year, thumping Covert and Jackson Northwest to begin at 2-0 and 1-0 in the new Interstate 8 Conference. James Cadena, Khylen Watkins and TraVon Johnson have been the driving force behind both Harper wins.
