BCC Remains Winless: HS Basketball

In their first home game of the season, the Battle Creek Central Bearcats looked to put an end to their three-game skid to begin the season. The streak unfortunately continues, as they drop a 61-47 decision to the Stevensville-Lakeshore Lancers at the BCC Gymnasium.

Junior forward Wendell White scored 13 points for the Bearcats, with nine of them in the first quarter and leading them to a 16-14 lead. The Lancers (3-0) would then use a stout man-to-man defense to help them pull ahead.

Three players scored in double figures for the Lancers, led by junior big man Braden Burke. The 6'10" center scored 14 of his 20 points in the first quarter to help Lakeshore keep pace in the opening quarter.
