HS Basketball: Spartans Look To Open With Win

After a disastrous season in 2014-2015, the Lakeview Spartans will get a fresh start at home to open the new season with the Coldwater Cardinals.

The Spartans finished 2-18 last season, but were very competitive in several games, including their opener in Coldwater last year, where they would fall 62-58. It would only be one of five victories on the season for the Cardinals, who would lose their next 11 games following their season-opening win.

Lakeview lost a little bit of size from last year's squad, but bring back solid starters in CJ Foster and Gavin Homer in the backcourt.

Coldwater has four seniors on their squad and should match up with the Spartans size-wise. The Cardinals are very young beyond their seniors, including their tallest player, 6'4" freshman Gage McGuire.
