In a rare night where WBCK was off on a Tuesday (due to Michigan State basketball), three city teams were back on the hardwood in non-divisional and non-conference games. It all begins with the state-ranked Harper Creek Beavers, who now have won six straight following a road win at former Twin Valley and Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference foe Sturgis.

The Battle Creek Central Bearcats scored in the closing seconds to get by the Portage Northern Huskies to move back over .500. The Lakeview Spartans' struggles continue with a road loss to the St. Joseph Bears.

Here's the rest of the action, including the Marshall Redhawks ending their six-game skid, St. Philip's and Climax-Scotts' girls squad suffer huge losses, and the Homer Lady Trojans continue to roll and keep pace with the leaders of the Big 8.
