A Cat Fight At Climax-Scotts: HS Basketball

The top two teams in the South Central Athletic Association's West Division will battle it out tonight with a chance to stretch the lead or tighten the race back up. The St. Philip Tigers head west to Climax-Scotts tonight to take on the Panthers in a rematch from January 23rd, where the Tigers held off the Panthers 50-43.

In the last meeting at St. Philip, it was a very defensive battle in the first half, where the Tigers led 17-10 at the half. The Tigers were able to hold the Panthers top-offensive threat junior Dallas Froberg to just 27 points on the night, matching his average. Tiger seniors Hunter Haley and Dreyson English provided the offense in the victory.

The Tigers have won three straight after falling in two straight games. Tonight's game is the second of a four-game road stretch for the Tigers, with their final home game on March 5th against the Jackson Christian Royals. A win tonight would also put them in a tie for the division lead with the Panthers atop the SCAA West.

The Panthers enter tonight on a three-game winning streak of their own, including a 79-39 hammering of Burr Oak on Tuesday. Tonight's game is one of their last two games of the regular season, as they host Bellevue February 27th.
