Panthers Handle The Tigers: HS Basketball-February 21

The St. Philip Tigers had their chances, but missing key free throws in the 4th quarter put them on a losing end of a 56-47 defeat to the Climax-Scotts Panthers on the road.

The Tigers came out with a quick first quarter, taking a 18-12 lead led by their leading scorer, Dreyson English. He would score 12 of his team-high 18 points in the first. But the Tigers would trail at the half 25-24 and their offensive woes would start to begin. After shooting 45 percent from the field in the 1st half, the Tigers shot 23 percent in the second half. Brayden Darr scored 14 points, with 11 in the second half in the loss.

Junior Dallas Froberg led the Panthers with 24 points on the night. Ethan Vosberg added 15 on the night, including 4-of-5 free throws down the stretch to give the Panthers their fourth straight win.
